Masters Leadership Program was created by Founder Jane Phipps out of a desire to keep San Antonio’s best and brightest retiring business executives and other community leaders involved and informed about the issues and challenges facing our community. MLP annually selects approximately 50 mature leaders for the 13 class-day program (Oct-Apr). The age of our typical student is 50+, accomplished in his/her respective field, and whether retired, nearing retirement, or still working, has command of his/her schedule. Participants come from the diverse fabric of our community’s rich culture, heritage, and business sectors with two common attributes – a desire to give back to the community and professional success that comes from lifelong learning. Upon graduation, participants of the program are expected to use their newfound knowledge, professional expertise, and life experience to serve on the boards of nonprofit organizations and civic commissions. From graduation of the first class in 2005 through Class XII (2016), MLP graduates have logged one half million hours in board service and volunteerism; reflecting more than $10 million human capital in Greater San Antonio.
