My wife and I began a while house renovation on 24 October last year! Projects were finished about 100 days later!
RPD won the bid primarily because of our budget! Wow, did we get our money's worth!
Our ceilings show no evidence of ever having "Popcorn", our kitchen is functionality and more importantly, BEAUTIFUL! The fireplace is center point when guest enter the house and is focal to our new living room.
Service was/is top notch! While holidays and vacations did cause delays in work completion, RPD accomplished work as agreed upon and offered follow-up services if required.
This team of professionals are the best. Highly recommend those considering house renovations call RPD to get a quote for projects you have in mind.
Six stars were not an options for us...but if we could, RPD would get six stars!

He came by to take a look and the following week, the fixes were made. He came back toward the end of the day with the project manager to ensure everything was fixed to my liking. May 31, 2023Previous reviewWe came across Renovate Paint and Design while researching for our master and guest bathroom remodel. We met with several other companies and RVD was the most detailed and thorough while going through the contracting phase (our sales manager was Gary and he was very prompt at answering any questions and doing revisions to our contract).
It took almost 2 months from signing the contract to having a start date for the project work and we had to reach out to Gary to inquire the status. Our project manager was Blake. I liked that he was able to help move along the project timeline by demo'ing both bathrooms at the same time which allowed the project to be completed in about a week vs two weeks. I also liked that the crew laid down paper in the hallway and bedroom leading to the bathroom to eliminate the dirt tracked inside.
However, there were several points that make me feel like the work was a solid ok versus other reviews here that were great:
- in our master bath, after the vanity was placed in, there is a crack in the tile adjacent to where the vanity is. There was no crack prior to this project
- behind the light fixture above this vanity is a hole that the fixture is partially covering
- in the guest bathroom, there is about an inch or two hole/gap between the bottom of the vanity and the wall.
- both bathroom vanities do not have caulk/sealant lining the bottom where it meets the floor. I have dropped a skincare item and it slid under the vanity and I have no way to get it out
- the towel hook and toilet paper holders fell out of the wall the day the work was completed. I was able to secure them back in using wall anchors (only 1 screw was used for each of these items when there were holes for 2 or more screws
- paint splatters in the shower and on our floor
- patches of paint missing on the walls and next to the doorframes
- the pipes below the sink were leaking. I was able to tighten them myself and eventually the leaks stopped.
The biggest knock was on the last day, the project manager arrived in the morning but prior to everyone leaving, he was not present and texted me to see if all the work was complete so he could let the crew go because he didn't want to drive back as he was also working another project. I quickly checked the bathrooms and did not notice the points above until after the crew left or days after. I would have appreciated him being present to walk through everything to ensure everything was up to par. I also felt as the project was taking place, I was not really kept up to date with the timeline. I was texted when the subcontractors like the countertop and plumbing would come but not really sure when the crew to do the other work would come. The crew came 2 days in a row and then at the end of the 2nd date said they were saving the work for "next time". When I asked when next time was, the crew lead said it would be up to the project manager. I was then texted the day before to be notified that the crew would be coming.
I feel like I had a lot of follow up work to do myself after this project was completed. Overall, my experience was OK. The bathrooms now look great but upon a closer look, there are items that need additional work.- Tim B.TX, TX041Oct 5, 2023
Be advised, they require payment of 1/3 up front before they even buy materials or drop them off. Well, I realize that many construction companies do this, I don't give money to people for nothing being done.
While they very well may be a reputable company, there is no protection whatsoever for the client in this. If they take the money and run, nothing can be done. I've had it happen before. I'll have to shop elsewhere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

We've been a reputable business since 2000 and have serviced thousands of satisfied customers. We would not be able to remain in business for 23 years without the trust our customers place in us to ensure that not only is their project completed satisfactorily but that they get what they pay for. Having a startup payment ensures a commitment we make with them to carry through with our services and theirs to utilize our company. If, for any reason, the customer chooses to cancel the project before it begins or any purchases are made by our company, they receive a full refund of their startup payment. This 1/3 startup payment is utilized to purchase, often, thousands of dollars in products before starting the work. This ensures that once we start the project in their homes, we have the materials needed and a shorter time at their homes. We are committed to excellence in our services and our reputation.

Top quality workmanship. A very good value. They were prompt. They moved my furniture for me and protected it very well while they made repairs and painted. I was also pleasantly surprised with how clean they left the area that was painted. I recommend Renovate and would use them again.

Incredible work! I had several painters and paint companies come out to quote us for interior work and from the first meeting, Renovate Paint and Design was top-notch.
My questions were answered promptly and Charles worked alongside me to stay within budget and help me choose a color to suit the interior of the house.
The painters were prompt, and respectful and did exceptional work. Barbara (project manager) checked in daily to make sure things were completed and to my satisfaction. RPD fixed and painted the exterior wood of the beautiful Woodward Mansion that is the home of The Woman's Club of San Antonio in March of 2020. It was an extensive job for most of the exterior is wood and the house was built in 1904. The did a wonderful job. However, what I am most impressed with is that this company stands by their work. The downstairs railing needed extra attention after just 3 years and RPD promptly came and fixed the problem at no extra charge. I was very appreciative and astounded that there is still a company that can be trusted to stand by the job.

They used the best SW paint and we do not expect any issues with the house exterior for many, many years. Not the cheapest bid we had but glad we paid a little more.
