Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 76. This Victorian-style home was built between 1897 and 1904, and originally owned by the Van Petty Family. In 1946, the home became the new residence of VFW Post 76. Post 76 was organized by Spanish American War Veterans and Chartered on June 26, 1917. It was the first VFW in the State of Texas and best known as the "Oldest Post in Texas."
