The company traces its history back to 1919 when, after returning from World War I, its founders Raymond Phelps, Sr. and Dahl Dewees began the firm of Phelps & Dewees Architects. Through those 100 years of history, GBA's projects have shaped the built fabric of our city and influenced generations of San Antonio. GBA's illustrious list of projects includes the 1920's addition to the Bexar County Courthouse, Alamo Stadium, Children hospital and Jefferson Highschool which is part of the National Register of Historic Places.
